1934 Packard Super 8 1934 Packard Super 8

1934 Packard Super 8 Limo, This car was assembled in Windsor, Ontario Apparently there were 14 super 8 limos built that year, in Canada--12lhd and 2rhd for England etc. I am told that several of the lhd cars were sold to the gov't of the Province for their senior elected officials. This car was one of these and was chauffeur driven for several years. I was told that during the war years it was sold to a convent in Montreal for the use of the Mother Superior. It was then sold to a local celebrity in Hull, Quebec [he was choirmaster of a world renowned choir. [across river from Ottawa and 120 miles from Montréal]. During engine rebuild this man's daughter came into garage and recognized the "family car". In 1949 Keith Collins bought the car and kept it until 1997 when I bought it . He had worked during the war building Merlin engines and was certainly qualified to rebuild the engine which I hired him to do in 1998 and 1999. We believe the odometer is correct at 93223 miles.
Roof done in 2000. I do not believe staining is from leaks but rather from condensation as previous owner had left it in an unheated building for at least 25 years. The exterior has no rust to my knowledge except maybe surface rust under fenders.
All doors work well and inside locks work. I have to admit I have never tried to use passenger side lock to fully lock car because it has never been out of my garage or sight!! No original trunk, however I do have a correctly sized stainless steel trunk which only requires covering and latches. The trunk support is excellent and complete. There no signs that this car has ever been involved in any type of collision. Gauges all work, but sometimes gas/oil flicks when gas is low. I had 8 day Waltham clock rebuilt.
Car drives well and brakes fine. Engine, front springs, brakes, radiator, gas tank, clutch, wheel bearings have all been overhauled and renewed. Trans was deemed to be ok so we did not touch it except to change fluids and main gaskets. Same for differential. Tires are from Coker and have less than 1000 miles on them.
Car is presently registered in Ontario and is Safety Checked and licensed to be driven anywhere. I presently have it licensed and insured as an Historic Vehicle, although up until 2 years ago I had it licensed as a regular car.

The Convertible Victoria is in many respects the most desirable of the Packard custom Dietrichs. Its blind quarters give it an unsurpassed elegance, and unlike the convertible coupe, the car provides far more versatility with luxurious accommodations for up to four. Although the style was offered from 1932 through 1934, the 1934 models have proven to be the most desirable today. They are unique in many respects, offering special “wind-split” trim, a redesigned dash intended to accommodate an optional built-in radio and several chassis enhancements. The body changes, however, make the 1934s so desirable.
This amazing Dietrich bodied Packard had a 100% restoration. It has a powder coated frame and suspension. The previous owner, Elliot Jones, spent 3 years restoring with all original parts. It is a CCCA #1978 Senior Premier vehicle, a Bay Harbor Winner in 2003 and was shown in 1996 at Pebble Beach and Meadowbrook. It was an all metal restoration with no bondo used and every original part is on the car. It has a hard chrome crank, modern bearings, hardened and balanced valve seats, dual sidemounts, rear trunk and wide whitewall tires with wire wheels. A very special automobile. Please note, this vehicle will be offered for sale only at the Central Pennsylvania Auto Auction, July 18th and 19th, 2014 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. A Rare Find—1926 Packard Single Six
This fully restored (frame off) Packard is rarer than hen’s teeth! Our ’26 Packard is the convertible coupe (yes, with rumble seat) Single Six model. Rare because so few were made; rare because only a handful are believed to have survived; and rare because this one looks and runs like new!
Great Looking
- Paint and Chrome
The first thing that jumps out about this Packard is the quality of the dark blue, light blue and black three-tone paint combination. The paint is a 9+ on a scale of 10 and it all looks fresh.
The chrome trim is in very good to excellent condition, without any pitting or fuzziness.
- Interior
The interior upholstery is in extremely nice condition from the leather seats, the leather rumble seat, and the door panels. The convertible top and the rear window look like new.
The dash surfaces and all of the instruments are in excellent cosmetic and working condition as well.
The rumble seat compartment, complete with golf door, has been refinished and the step pads enabling a passenger to enter/exit are pristine.
- Engine
This model is known as the Single Six [Packard made both a 12 cylinder and 6 cylinder engine at the time], and the engine starts right up and runs properly. The detailed engine sits in an equally nicely detailed engine bay.
- Transmission
The three-speed transmission shifts properly and goes readily into both the forward as well as reverse gears.
- Brakes/Wheels/Tires
This car has full steel wheels mounted with virtually new-looking tires.
An Excellent Example of a Rare Packard Convertible
Pre-war Packard convertibles are difficult to find in good condition but finding excellent Twenties-vintage Packards is almost impossible. If you are in the market for an outstanding classic, this is a must-see car from both a rarity and a value perspective. You are unlikely to find another one of this quality outside the Packard museum.

1958 Packard 1958 Packard

Less than one thousand 1958 Packard sedans were made, making this an exceptionally rare car and the perfect project car with a lot of upside. In fact, a restored '58 Packard sold in 2011 at the RM Auction for nearly $50,000.
This car is remarkably complete and solid. The frame, rockers, and undercarriage are solid. There is a coating of surface rust but the metal appears very solid. We pulled up the carpet in the drivers seat and that floor is complete with no rust holes or breakage.. The interior is amazing--totally complete and the silver/blue plush interior fabric is totally retro. In particular, the padded dash is totally intact when nearly all Studebaker and Packards of this era have sagging and deteriorated dash. The dashboard is also striking, clean and complete and while the dashboard pad does have some slight sagging in the center, it is complete and in well above average condition. The carpet is serviceable but only fair condition. The exterior body has 4 areas of rust that are marginally servicable. There is some pitting on the chrome on the rear. The ultra-rare fibreglass front hood is in excellent condition.
The original engine is complete but the car does not run now. This is a super rare car and great candidate for restoration with nothing but upside potential.
