1931 Packard 840 - $175,000 - Portland, OR - The 1931 Packard was the last of the true classic clamshell fendered cars by this esteemed maker. The Deluxe Eight Convertible Coupe had the lowest number built, just over 100 with just five in The Packard Club. This car has the magnificent 1932 Vee shaped radiator and bumpers as fitted to the very last cars and was special ordered with rear mounted spare which further emphasized the long swept fender line. 1931 was Packard's lowest sales year with just over 2000 total Deluxe Eights built. This was the first year for the 120 hp engine and Packard's four speed gearbox. The car is fully restored to a very high standard. Receipts for over $200,000. The car has never been judged. I also have a 1931 Deluxe Eight Roadster and simply do not have the time to enjoy both.
