Offered for sale for the first time in 45 years.
Believed to be the only Packard Standard 8 Sport Phaeton known to exist. This three owner vehicle was purchased new in 1935 with the second owner taking ownership in 1937. It was purchased and restored in 1970 by the current owners.
Driven very sparingly it has accumulated only 10,000 miles over the past 45 years and shows only 51,170 miles. It has seen limited use in parades, car shows and tours. Always garaged and pampered it is the jewel of the owners collection.
This Packard 8 runs and drives excellent with a smooth running 320 c.i./ 130 HP inline eight and a three speed manual transmission.
The interior is in good condition as is the chrome work and glass. The body by Dietrich is holding up well for the age of the restoration and the lacquer paint represents well.
The Sport Phaeton was a very limited production in 1935. The rear cowl gave the Sport Phaeton it's elegant look while providing protection from the elements for the rear passengers. The rear cowl mechanism and glass both function properly on this vehicle as does the top.
This is the rare opportunity to own a Packard that has been part of a private collection for many years and has never been offered for sale at auction.
